As the Chairman of the Board at ArvoCap Asset Managers, Mr. Mutonga is the unwavering leader guiding our corporate governance, strategic vision, and overall direction. With a distinguished career marked by wisdom and foresight, he brings a commitment of excellence that propels Arvocap to new heights. Mr. Mutonga boasts 25 years of active investment experience in Kenya’s Capital Markets, specializing in Money Markets, Listed Equities, and Government Securities. His role on the Board adds the valuable perspective of an investor, contributing insights into value creation, risk appetite, and product diversification.
Mr. Mutonga holds a Bachelor of Medicine & Surgery from the University of Nairobi and an MSC in Applied Epidemiology from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology. With over 18 years of experience in public health practice at national, regional, and international levels, he currently serves as the Kenya team lead for the USAID-funded Infectious Diseases Detection and Surveillance Project and the Kenya country representative for ICF International.
After a brief period as a medical/clinical practitioner, his rich tour of national service includes a stint as a District Medical Officer, and later head of the Division of Disease Surveillance and Outbreak Response in the Ministry of Health, Kenya. He has also worked with major international organizations such the WHO, the U.S. CDC and Palladium in various African countries and beyond, including South Sudan, Congo, Uganda, South Africa, U.S.A and Thailand. He brings to the board a great vision on strategic preparedness, organizational stability and mission driven agility.
